Ian has a wealth of knowledge of work within trade association and standards making committees. He has chaired many industry committees within three trade associations. He also has experience of chairing National Standards Committees and in representing the UK at European and International meetings where he often acts as leader for the UK or Principle UK expert.

He has also served on the Board of Directors for an International Association and has chaired the European Region of that Association.

He has also represented various manufacturing companies at discussions with certification bodies and has also given advice to those and other companies.
